You wont be able to interface with your 002 using the FW port on the DM 24,, you can, however, use all of the other ins and outs,, I believe it comes standard with 8 ADAT and 2 SPD/F channels plus 24 analogue in outs so you would be able to use the full 18 that the 002 offers,,
it is also able to be used in HUI emulation mode which would allow you to use it as a controller with PT,, how successful this would work i have no idea some one may chip in with there experience,, you may want to see if TASCAM have a forum and ask over there,,
