NVMe booting in a cMP works with Mojave 14.6 (maybe Mojave 14.4, too). Updated the graphics card so I could load Mojave: added an 8GB Radeon Sapphire Pulse RX580 with the Macvidcards boot ROM flash.

The PCIe version 2 limits the performance to +/- 1,400, half of what the newer PCIe3 slots can do. But still about three times faster than a SATA SSD in a PCIe accelerator card and six times faster than an SSD in one of the four 3Gbps HDD bays.

Cool deal. What exact adapter card with it buy?

Do you feel that your Protools sessions run better with the new 970 Pro?
