When I first got my Quad G5 and setup Pro Tools 7/HD3 PCIe, I had all kinds of inexplicable crashing problems and everyone kept saying RAM RAM RAM. I ran Rember and other tests and all passed. FInally pulled the G5 from the rack and removed the RAM and...problem solved. Check the RAM.
