From what I can tell, there's some sort of script that the software is supposed to tell Mojave that it's trying to access the system's microphone under privacy settings.

Looks as though if someone can find a way to force ProTools hd 11 to ask Mojave or Catalina access to the system's microphone then audio will at least come through to it.
