Default Re: Cheapest way to upgrade PT HD 11 to pro tools ultimate 2020?

Personally, I would walk away and never look back. If you are questioning whether the 600GBP is worth it to get to PT 2020, the decisions really only get worse after you pay that 600GBP. From there, you will be required to pay an additional 384GBP every year, year on year just to have the option to upgrade at some point in the future. There is no skipping payments. If you miss one, Avid will lock your license off and bid you farewell, offering instead a new 800GBP a year subscription license, or a new 2000GBP perpetual license as your only means of upgrading.

For someone who has successfully rocked PT11 up until now, there is very little in 2020 for you. Certainly not 600GBP worth of new features. On the flip side, Studio One is on sale at the moment. For the 600GBP, you'll get a professional license... and still have enough money left over to cover upgrades for about the next decade. It appears a bunch of people are using PT11 successfully with Windows 10. I would investigate that as an interim option... or just rock a system that works as is.
