In my experience, the Reamp does a superior job of this. You can use a passive DI "backwards", and for some budget conscious folks this is a fine solution. But if you're looking to squeeze out every drop of tone, buying the Reamp is $240 well spent.

BTW, I have no relationship with them, other than that I bought two of these, and love them.
