That's a pity. Neither do I, because I stopped using Time Machine several years ago, mainly because, at least back then, it could not be trusted to restore a startup disk properly. I use Carbon Copy Cloner.

Anyway, I feel pretty confident that what has happened is what I described; PT cannot find some sessions because where they used to be, there is now a "link" to where it is in iCloud.

When you manually tried to copy things from the icloud Drive, are you shure you placed them exactly where they used to be?

Did you check if the "Optimize storage" option was on or not? I suggest you do NOT change it's status now, as I described if you do that, things start to happen. Let's wait a little and see if someone else has any advice.

Jeffro, if he manually restores /Users/*name*/Documents/Pro Tools/Project Cache would that do it?

The fundamental problem, I think, is I'm not shure how iCloud handles pushing back and forth the folders when there has been a manual copying, of the Documents folder f.ex.
