Default Re: PCIe SSD cards and Mac Pro upgrades

Hello there, everyone! MERRY CHRISTMAS from Dallas, Texas! I am new to this super-upgrading of Mac Pro Towers with SSDs. I have a 2012 Mac Pro 5,1.

After doing a lot of research and reading up on what others have written, I am very interested in the Amfeltec PCI Express Gen 2 Carrier Board for M.2 SSD modules. The speeds look incredible! I would use it for WORKING PROJECTS. 4K video editing. I currently have an OWC Mercury Accelsior E2 SSD for my boot drive.

To get those high speeds with the Amfeltec and 4 SSD (M.2) drives, what is the best way to RAID 0 them together? I can't imagine that Apple's software RAID is best. Is there a hardware card that can be used with the Amfeltec and SSD modules? Isn't software RAID taxing on the system? Is there a better software RAID, IF no hardware card is possible?

Since this forum was created . . . is there anything NEW out there that is even BETTER than this scenario? I want the best I can afford. :)

Thanks so much for the info! I appreciate the feedback!
