Re: Input distortion problems

Okay, seeing as I have a hard time letting misinformation go uncorrected for any length of time, I'm going to jump in here right now. Firstly, -10 and +4 refer to the different power levels used by...

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Just picked up Logic a week or so ago. I set Pro Tools to transmit MIDI timecode, MIDI beat clock, and MIDI machine control, to an IAC bus. I then put Logic...

Re: Control 24 Cutting Out?1?

No suggestions, but I've experienced something similar. Once, during a playback, all audio output ceased. I stopped and restarted playback with no effect. Finally, I reached to adjust the volume...

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">It should have worked. images/icons/confused.gif This is the normal way to set up a cue mix, and it's what we use in our room. The only difference being...

Re: Wireless keyboard and mouse?

No need to defend your position. I wasn't trying to say that wireless keyboards are a bad thing. I don't really even have an opinion on the issue. I just thought the story was good for a quick...

Re: Wireless keyboard and mouse?

This thread reminded me of a rather amusing story on slashdot:

Okay, there are just a couple of things I am going to comment on....

Re: Will bounce to disk really affect your sound?

There is sometimes a difference. I have two very different bounces from a session with heavy automation. The automated filter sweeps, which played back fine during normal playback, became jumpy and...

Re: Homeade Shielding, so I can keep audio & power cables running all together?

You could minimize the number of power cables you run by running a single extension cord through the hole instead of 3 power cords. This would also eliminate the need to run any more power cords...

Re: digi 001 or protools mix plus?

I agree. There are very few things you can do with a TDM system that can't be done with an LE system. The biggest difference is that some things take longer to accomplish under LE. If your concern...

Re: Recommend a good Web Hosting service?

I've been very impressed with DomainDirect. I've been with them for several years, and they've continued to add new services and features to my package without charging me anything more. In fact,...

Re: Are listeners getting used to the sound of Autotune? Aqualung!

My observations on Auto-Tune artifacts: Some listeners don't hear them, some listeners hear them but don't know what they are (they just interpret them as some type of "effect" that was put on the...

Re: D24 system - latency w/Vdrums

Yep, we've got a similar setup in our room. The tiny amount of delay induced by converting to digital, routing through Pro Tools, and then converting back to analog, combined with the delay it takes...

Re: Best small diaphragm condenser for the money?

Here's another vote for the Oktava MK12. There *are* much nicer things out there, but if you're looking for a pair of nice small diaphragm mics at a low price point (about $200 for a pair), the...

Re: HELP ... URGENT !!!

The only suggestions I'd have would be:

1. Try opening the session document with a different version of Pro Tools

or

2. Try importing the tracks from the session into another session

Both...

Re: Yikes, I finally heard the Bounce to Disk Problem

I was indeed using a version of Pro Tools later than 5.1 - I think it was 5.1.3.

Re: Yikes, I finally heard the Bounce to Disk Problem

I too was convinced that BTD was identical to recording bussed playback output, until a couple months ago. I was working with a piece that had some filter sweeps on pink noise, recorded as...

Re: who\'s interested in a new control surface?

Re: who\'s interested in a new control surface?

If 24 faders of Pro Control cost less than the Control 24 (say about $6000), I'd be interested in it. Otherwise, I like the way the C24 looks and functions much better.
