When using Quartet with webcam/core audio, all input/output volumes go to max.
Hi there,
I have 4 Quartet's and an Ensemble. We use the built in mics as talkbacks when we're communicating with each other via webcam/Skype/etc...
For some reason, all 5 interfaces will...

Re: Dialnorm-WLM or MediaMeter?
I've gone through all of them in the past 5 years: LM100, then the DMM, then the DMM2, then the WLM. We've phased everything out except the WLM in all of our rooms. It works better than all of the...

Just to chime in, I had a fantastic experience with Video Symphony years ago and am happy to recommend them for this sort of thing.

Yeah, and of course IMDB is gold when it comes to film & network TV. No doubt about that. :)

Re: New book on Protools 10 for Post Production
In my opinion, Video Symphony has the best industry training you can get without actually being in a studio. I took a few a la carte classes years ago and they were great.
I just bought the book...

Re: OMF and QT/PT timecode are off. Any way to correct?
I always match the OMF to the Quicktime's scratch track. Just nudge with 1 frame as the nudge value. Easy, painless and 9 times out of 10 is frame accurate.

Re: New versions of Dolby Media Meter 2 released 3/19/2012
Yeah, I'll use the WLM in real time (since it doesn't constantly hiccup the system like the DMM), then run the whole mix through the stand alone DMM for a QC check at the end.

Re: New versions of Dolby Media Meter 2 released 3/19/2012
jeez.. talk about taking your time. This was the single-most issue that forced me to switch to V-Meters, then WLM. Now I'm happy with those tools and am not looking back to the DMM.

Solo mode bug or me?
I use "solo mode > x-or (cancels previous solo)" pretty religiously, but I can never get it to "stick". It'll last for a while, then flip over to "latch" what seems like randomly.
Is this a bug,...

Re: Web Specs?
Just for clarification. I don't change the mix in any way. I just bring the output of my limiter up to -2 (usually at -10). I don't do any additional compression or anything.

Re: Web Specs?
Yep, same here. I usually do around -2 for web. That leaves a couple of dbs just in case of any weird summing if they re-convert the video.

Re: **PT10 Bug - Pencil Tool/Clip Gain
This is one of those things in PT10 that needs to "just work". I'm not going to go through multiple steps to simply draw out a tick.
Curious if anyone else has had this issue?

PT10 & RX Denoiser reacting weird?
Has anyone else noticed that RX2 (denoiser in particular) is acting weird with Pro Tools 10? On PT9, I would reduce around 6-8db roughly with no artifacts. Now, I'll reduce it like 2-3db WITH...
