Re: EQ on Beat Clipping Despite Making Filters Inactive

Hm... The thing is, I don't even have mastering software at the moment, so if I did this, my song would just sound a lot quieter. I'm trying to just make due with my current resources. Eventually...

Re: EQ on Beat Clipping Despite Making Filters Inactive

If I lowered my beat to -12db, I'd have to make significant reductions to my vocals, as well. What if I just left the EQ on it and kept it at -0.1 db on the input, thereby eliminating the clipping?...

Re: EQ on Beat Clipping Despite Making Filters Inactive

Probably not. Pro Tools First is extremely limited; no clip gain, only a certain number of tracks, limited plug ins, etc. Usually I reduce gain through a compressor but I don't know if throwing...

Re: EQ on Beat Clipping Despite Making Filters Inactive

I'm using Pro Tools First so I don't get access to clip gain at the moment.

Re: EQ on Beat Clipping Despite Making Filters Inactive

Hm.. Having a little bit of a hard time understanding what you guys are saying lol. I think I get what you're saying in general. Are you saying the 7-Band EQ adds to whatever you throw it on even if...

Re: EQ on Beat Clipping Despite Making Filters Inactive

So does this mean that the beat isn't actually clipping? And yeah, I will. I only posted the thread again because I realized I posted in a relatively empty topic discussion compared to other topic...

EQ on Beat Clipping Despite Making Filters Inactive

Hey guys, I have a quick EQ/Clipping question. I was trying to test to see if a beat I was using was clipping in any hidden kind of way. I'm not sure if throwing a 7-band EQ on the beat and making...

Re: USB Mic Volume/Clipping Issues

Fixed the issue. Only problem now is the quality of my vocals aren't as good as my phone recordings weirdly lol. I suspect that it's probably largely due to the fact that the mic is picking up way...

Re: USB Mic Volume/Clipping Issues

I don't think this is it. I reduced the beat's volume by like -15 db. I made sure the beat was fine and wasn't clipping first and foremost and yeah, it's an instrumental type beat, pre-mixed. I think...

Re: USB Mic Volume/Clipping Issues

Okay yeah so basically even tho I fixed the input issue and it no longer records at very high volume, it still clips at extremely low volume. Like, insanely low volume. Doesn't make any sense. On the...

Re: USB Mic Volume/Clipping Issues

Yep. Solved. That was the issue. For some reason, adjusting input levels on "AT2005USB" in Sound Preferences doesn't do anything, but it does on "External Microphone" which honestly I don't even...

Re: USB Mic Volume/Clipping Issues

I noticed just now when opening up the Sound Preferences to adjust my output volume that I have External Microphone - Microphone Port which seems to be separate from my AT2005 as my AT2005 has Input...

Re: USB Mic Volume/Clipping Issues

My Microphone only has an on/off switch. The only knob on my mic is an on/off switch. I just now noticed a little rolling function on the bottom of it which looks like something you can control...

Re: USB Mic Volume/Clipping Issues

I'm currently using earphones. Regular earphones. I have like $100 BOSE Speakers which are fine for their price, but I get a loud high pitched noise whenever I try to record vocals and hear myself...

Re: USB Mic Volume/Clipping Issues

Thanks the help. I did keep it open. That's what made me feel like it wasn't working - specifically the input. As I kept the window open during Pro Tools and adjusted the input levels, I didn't...

Re: USB Mic Volume/Clipping Issues

I read that entire set up before I plugged in the mic. That's how I realized you could change Mic's input and output settings through Sound Preferences. Doesn't really go into detail about anything...

USB Mic Volume/Clipping Issues

Hey guys. I recently bought an AT2005 USB Mic to record vocals into Pro Tools. I've been having an issue where basically when I record vocals, the volume ends up being recorded pretty loud. I'm aware...

Re: "Error 401: You have been signed out. You can try signing in later."

Well that explains a lot of the glitch issues I've been having. But I need a physical iLok key in order to have offline sessions? How should I go about resaving my projects to sessions?

Re: "Error 401: You have been signed out. You can try signing in later."

Hm.. I thought I was saving them as sessions. I only used to word "project" to describe the sessions. I'm a bit confused. How do I know if I'm saving it as a "project" as opposed to a "session?"...
