Note that you can check the installed version on macOS using Get Info on the CloudClientServices.app in Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Avid/Cloud Client Services/

Are they on a Perpetual license? They can install it on any supported machine. Though 1 license can only be activated on 1 location. They can deactivate this from his desktop, then activate it...
