Re: Pro Tools 9.0.5 crashing just after startup

I had the same issue. Turned out it was Vocalign Pro causing it. Moved it to the temp folder, had no issues since. 9 times out of 10 when Pro Tools is crashing during startup, it's a plugin related...

Re: questionable quality of Euphonix Artist Series?

I just received my replacement MC Mix from Avid, because of housing cracks.

I bought my MC Mix used, initially, so it was not only out of warranty, but I had no proof of purchase. They offered...

Re: Artist Series Success Stories?

I've got an MC Mix that I purchased used on eBay. It began developing housing cracks but Avid was very helpful and replaced it under warranty, even though I had no original proof of purchase.

Re: Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 & Pro Tools 9

I have a Saffire Pro 24 DSP that I occasionally have some sample rate issues with. Restarting Pro Tools and correcting sample rate in MixControl usually resolves the "The current audio interface is...

Re: questionable quality of Euphonix Artist Series?

My MC Mix has various small cracks in the case. I have sent in an email to Avid and have yet to receive a response. Bummed about the customer service.

Re: mackie c4 pro & PT 9

Last I checked this device didn't work at all with Pro Tools. No HUI ability to map to encoder banks like that. A shame, because that's a really cool device.

Re: "hanging" applications when mbox 2 plugged in

Well I haven't wanted to jinx it, so I haven't posted until now. But I installed CS3 last week and have been using my Mbox 2 with my Mac Pro regularly since then with ALL audio applications (iTunes,...

Re: "hanging" applications when mbox 2 plugged in

What a freaking joke. I think it's time I sell my Mbox 2. This is absolutely ridiculous, and I can't help but feel that buying the Mbox 2 was a huge waste of money, and a huge mistake.

I'm...

Re: "hanging" applications when mbox 2 plugged in

That's what I've had to do, although with a basic little Behringer mixer. It's not ideal, I'd love to have this issue resolved.

Any update?

Re: "hanging" applications when mbox 2 plugged in

I agree, it certainly is better, but definitely no solution.

Bummer!

Re: "hanging" applications when mbox 2 plugged in

Well, so much for that. iTunes did just crash on me, and while it hasn't locked up my system entirely, I am not able to force quit iTunes at all. Bummer, I had high hopes for this.

Re: "hanging" applications when mbox 2 plugged in

I've tried intentionally to make it crash by using multiple CoreAudio applications and switching back and forth between them (Safari, iTunes, Quicktime, FCP, Garageband, etc) and I haven't been able...

Re: "hanging" applications when mbox 2 plugged in

Oddly, that seemed to help for me, at least for now. It seems that once the plugin is deleted, coreaudio technically "shouldn't" work through the Mbox2, but it does, without crashes.

Weird, but...

Re: "hanging" applications when mbox 2 plugged in

I agree entirely. I used to never think twice before throwing large amounts of money at Digidesign for products that I knew were quality. However, I will not buy any new Digidesign products...

Re: "hanging" applications when mbox 2 plugged in

Digidesign is no longer doing the "trade-up" program, are they?

Also one last question: Does this issue still occur if the Mbox 2 IS plugged in, but is not set in System Preferences to output...

Re: "hanging" applications when mbox 2 plugged in

Good to hear some seemingly solid information, although it seems to not bode well for getting a fix released soon.

I never had this happen when I had my Digi 003, but I'm still very curious if...

Re: "hanging" applications when mbox 2 plugged in

Same problem here on a Mac Pro with Pro Tools 8 and the Mbox 2. Any word on whether or not this happens with the Mbox 2 Pro? I've been thinking about upgrading, curious if it would solve the...
