Read the manual. That setting does not change the actual sample rate of the usb audio interface. As spec’d previously, you need to install the core audio driver.

Reading this page all the way through still leads me to believe the internals are fixed at 48k and everything else is accomplished via SRC....

Use the tempo ruler with the conductor on and put in a big tempo change for just the last quartet note of the bar before the pause. Then put the tempo back for the first beat of the next bar.
