Just wanted to let you all know about a social event I've organised in the West Country (UK) this coming Friday. It's the first SonicMeet (http://www.sonicmeet.co.uk) to happen outside...

Re: ADR/Post sync facility in Dublin?
I know it's the wrong side of the country but I used to work for Telegael and they had Source Connect. Might be worth a last resort? Ciaran O'Tuarisc is the head of sound there, speak to him.

Re: ADR/Post sync facility in Dublin?
I'd go with Screen Scene. http://www.screenscene.ie. They don't list source connect, but I've done ADR with them via that. Failing that, then speak to Alan at Ardmore Sound (www.ardmoresound.ie).

Rather concerned about my system's performance
Hello all,
I am mightily concerned. I have just upgraded my iMac to Lion, then PT to 9.0.6. The first thing I did was to open some old PT session and press play. Everything works perfectly fine....

Yup, talking away to myself quite frequently. I only realise when my wife knocks on the door and asks me who I'm talking to.

Re: Controller Advice
I bought an MC Mix to go with my new PT9 system. Works a treat and it's great that the plugins will come down onto the pots and faders (just like my old ProControl).

Re: Audio Handles / OMF imported
All this means is that you should be able to pull out each side of a region by 50 frames if you want to. The regions will be exactly the same as in his edit suite frame for frame.

Mike that's a really good suggestion!
I don't want to derail the topic on the second post but is there software other than MC or FCP that will add on TC to a QT?

Re: PT8.1 Importing another session messes up my I/O
I can see its use and why they have reworked the I/O but it would be nice to be able to have it both ways as an option you can turn on and off. Then you'd have a powerful and useful import option IMO.

I have taken issue with the new I/O. I need to import other sessions (from tracklay or main titles/credits stems) into my mix template on a regular basis.
Every time I import another...

Re: RTAS vs TDM
Hey Mike,
That explains why I sometimes lose audio randomly. I've been using SPL's De-Verb on a show and it does this. I'm the same in that I only use RTAS plugins when I have to. If the cards are...

Re: Heat for post (nothing to do with Michael Mann)
Hey Mike,
I've been wanting to try it out of curiosity but I'm too busy at the moment. Not sure it'd have much use in Post. Although doing a retro sound design is not that common. Like making a...
