Am I not making myself clear? Told that every major OS uograde requires a clean install. Pointuodates do not, but once you have a clone of a well working clean install you can use it in case update...

But my beta team background reflects on the question, that seems to be hard to understand for some. Because I know first hand that unless you have a known starting point...

Except that it dees. Every time I upgrade my OS I do the upgrade first, benchmark the system, then do clean install when I have time. After clean install it always performs better with fewer...

Clean install is still the only way to have a known starting point. That is what we did on a regular basis on the Beta Team, the age of hardware had nothing to do with it as we were testing software.

I have been Waves free ever since they stopped supporting "all major platforms", as in Avid DSP.

Well definition of "clean install" is "install operating system on empty hard drive", but the problem is Avid is not requiring it on their knowledgebase articles.

Being a former beta tester I know that ONE bad behaving plugin may cause havoc to top of the line best money can buy system. So can factory install of operating system as well. Clean install is a way...

Have you done a clean install to freshly emptied system storage? It makes a world of difference...

I myself have a fully loaded M1 Mac Mini for testing purposes. Clean install and zero trouble....
