like the OP, i have a PTHD 12 perpetual license. i can run it on an older rig, but i would like to install the drivers on a newer laptop...

the 12-core is the same price for 2.66 GHz ($4999). what they added today was an option for 2.40 GHz. but as you pointed out, you get 12 gig RAM instead of 6. not sure there is any other difference...

sorry to make you defensive, i certainly didn't mean offense. that the card didn't include the s/w i thought worth mentioning, so others can compare apples to apples.
