Re: Best drum option for Mac/Leopard

Hi PT Lover,

I agree the sound quality is good on most all the drum plugs. It's only CPU hog issue that I am saying is a problem. I just want to encourage new users to do what I should have done...

BFD2

After playing around with it for a few days I really like BFD2. Let's be clear. It does not improve the RTAS performance in any way. Still sucks along with every other drum plug. But as a stand...

Re: Best drum option for Mac/Leopard

You do not need the keyboard. You can usually draw your beats if you are programming.
Now for the bad news. There is no good drum plugin for PT on a native system. They all hog too much CPU power....

Re: BFD in Leopard

I have been reading the manual for BFD2 and it appears they have added some extra capability for rendering audio tracks outside of PT to solve the resource problems. Considering the extensive mixing...

Re: Hiss and buzz in active monitors! Please advise!

If you open the shield on the TRS only do it on one end (monitor speaker end) and leave the other end connected so you still get the shielding effect. You could also use an isolation transformer....

Re: Strike - how do I record the audio?

Each track in strike has an output selector with 8 outputs you cans select instead of the Master stereo track. These 8 individual outputs can be routed to PT tracks..

Re: How can I run 16 tracks input/output on 002 at

You are stuck with HD........the 002 can only do 10 channels at 96k. 8 regular inputs plus 2 S/PD
IF (Coaxial or Optical)..it does not support the optical format for 4 channles @ 96k. It can only...

Re: Digi 002 Rack - Mic/Line Share Preamps?

If you did use 1/4" to XLR you would be causing an impedence mis-match because the XLR input is set to match a MIC input (Low impedence) and not a synth (high impedence). You would be much better of...

Re: Pro Tools Doesn\'t See MIDI Controller

could it be that your controller is not checked as an input device in PT (Setup->MIDI->Input Devices menu)? usually the USB drivers do this for you but it's worth a check since PT is the only thing...

Re: Strike - how do I record the audio?

Sounds like you have Strike inserted on an instrument track. That's fine....

-create an Audio track...
-set the output of the instrument track that Stike is inserted on to an internal stereo bus....

Re: External Firewire HD?

The only symptoms I had was that when I added a new Lacie FW 800 drive to my setup that already had the 002R and a WD FW 400 HD on the two FW 400 ports. As soon as I added the FW 800 drive the FW...

Re: External Firewire HD?

Scott,

If you connect a FW 800 drive to the FW 800 port on a G5 it will run at FW 800 speed even if the 002R is connected to the FW 400 port. I know everyone on the DUC states that it will run at...
