Re: M Box Configuration with Logic 7

I have worked with a lot of systems including Logic Pro 6 or 7, and either the M•Box, the 001 or the 002. It works, but the Digi CoreAudio drivers are very poorly written. You can easily loose sync...

Re: Will any PCI card work with any 001 breakout b

I have no idea, but I'll ask! I'll see him tomorrow night. Problem is, I doubt he'll even remember. I'll ask anyway.

Re: Will any PCI card work with any 001 breakout b

VERY well!!! He's been in the business of buying and selling macs for years, has a store, is a certified apple tech and all. No chance he would ever do any shady business!

Will any PCI card work with any 001 breakout box?

I'm trying to see if I can test PCI cards by swapping them with mine... a friend just bought a couple of macs with PCI cards inside but no 001 breakout box.

Re: How to prepare my PT session for Logic

Funny, I'm doing the exact opposite (getting my Logic sessions ready to be mixed in Pro Tools!).

Anyway, the process is the same: bounce one long file per track that start at beat 1 of bar 1, so...

Re: Firewire enclosure for hard drive?

Well precisely, some people argue that those little fans are useless and the heat is trapped in those plastic cases, whereas the aluminum cases act as a heatsink, dissipating the heat to the room...

Re: OWC Neptune drives, anyone?

Do a search for OWC. A LOT of complaints about bad service and bad customer service here and in the TDM forum. I'm not ordering anything from them!

Firewire enclosure for hard drive?

I'm buying a Hitachi/IBM Deskstar 160GB 7200rpm 8M cache drive and need a firewire enclosure for it. I will use this drive to move data between studios. My budget is really tight so I'd rather buy a...

Re: Logic and PTLE simultaneously on 001

Why would you want to do that anyway? To me it's like trying to tie a porsche and a BMW together using rope and drive that. You'll go faster and drive better if you pick one car!

Re: bits & khz

Plus, recording at 48KHz means you add a conversion in the process, from 48 to 44.1. I've never heard any good 48 to 44.1 conversion. I suggest you work at 24 bits 44.1KHz unless you really know what...

Re: WHY do you use Peak, Logic, etc.?

Well yeah you could use Logic with only soft synths and then mix your result to CD, bypassing the need for any kind of inputs/outputs interfaces. However, you would be limited to software...

Re: Removing fret squeals /buzz/ sliding

I would advise against EQ as well. Editing them out is an idea, but depending on the style of music, it might sound more natural to just use automation to "tame" them down.
