Re: Haswell build

Don't think anyone can answer your question without having done a build with that board but..

The Haswell 4770K and the Z87 chipset both work well with PT10 and 11.
The UEFI/BIOS might be...

Re: Any advice for Waves license issue?

Restore is a wonderful thing.
I've been using the paid or free version of Paragon for years and it has not let me down.

Re: Any advice for Waves license issue?

Never had this issue, but from several others threads it seem the Waves setup to identify your machine uses the MAC address.
So a VPN driver might confuse it.
I use a USB stick for Waves and...

Re: Delay Compensation Bug

Dude, that link was to a post from 2011 and was not a post about a known bug.

Re: Delay Compensation Bug

Avid almost never comments on bugs here.
The Ideascale thing is truly strange,.
Voting on which bugs to fix, like Avid can't decide what is important

Re: Delay Compensation Bug

Always time to add features you can pay for, never time to fix the crapware you have already paid for.
Avid has been pulling this on their customers for years.

Re: PT11 and Saffire Pro14. Issues.

You must set the sample rate in the Saffire mix control software to match the Pro Tools session rate before starting Pro Tools.

Also, you should download the latest version of Saffire software....

Re: i7 Builds - Specs and Results

No issues yet, PT 11 runs well with all the NI VI's, Slate Drums and mostly Waves plugins.
I tried the integrated graphics quickly and saw a small increase in CPU loading, but I use a low end...

Re: i7 Builds - Specs and Results

I would get the Haswell if you are going to do a 4 core.
By time you would change to a new processor you would want the new chipsets anyway.
The Haswell-E versions due out later this year will...

Re: Monitor Stands

I use Neoprene and it works well at a fraction of the cost.
Sorbothane is excellent if you need impact and vibration control.
Overkill I think for speaker pads, but maybe you have done an...

Re: Monitor Stands

Check amazon for speaker spikes, I would not pay a lot for them.
They just reduce the vibration area to 4 points, no magic.

Not familiar with iso-pads.
Neoprene is used in all kinds of...

Re: Monitor Stands

You don't want the speakers mounted to the floor you want to isolate them.
You can put this under the stands and on top instead of paying a bunch for "isolation pads"

Point contact feet on...

Re: Pro Tools 11: Pops/crackles when scrolling mix window in playback

+1 - 800 Mhz is a terrible choice.
Neweeg or Amazon should have a few different matched memory kit compatible with your motherboard.
The speed and matching are important.
Most memory makers...

I thought this thread was about "Waves Mercury Retrograde" not soundgrid.

Maybe the real question is why users who think Waves is semi-pro and have found "much better alternatives" post on...

Re: i7 Builds - Specs and Results

I would wait on the 3rd quarter of this year if possible if you want to build a top of line machine.
The six and eight core Haswell's with quad channel DDR4 memory are due out then.

Re: Pro Tools 11: Pops/crackles when scrolling mix window in playback

+1 for the above.
Also, that CPU should be able to overclock quite a bit with a decent cooler.
If you are not using it I would disable the SoundBlaster in Bios or at least get rid of the extra...

How could you run a business like that, with no control over what you would...
