Re: PT Ultimate - one licence -two machines?

Sure in principle, but the moment you have any network connectivity problem Pro Tools stops working. I would trust a physical iLok over iLok cloud any day. Switch that iLok between systems if needed.

Re: How to measure CPU-usage of plugins?

I doubt there is anything useful out there and anything would be next to useless for real users to interpret/take advantage of. I do expect plugin developers to be benchmarking their plugins. And the...

Re: Mac Ventura Compatibility

Everymac every time. Super useful resource, never found a problem with it. It's "Pre-installed macOS" version info is great at letting you know what you can roll back to. Easier to find/navigate than...

And what computer exactly. Post a Sandra report. Start at "Help Us Help You" up the top of each DUC web page.

My gut feel is this is such an unusual/likely serious problem you have either a very...

Re: Ram Upgrade on Mac Pro 2019 for 96khz

I also posted some other comments on memory usage recently. https://duc.avid.com/showpost.php?p=2654010&postcount=15

Maybe most useful there is mention of boot-args="maxmem=xx" and the...

Re: Ram Upgrade on Mac Pro 2019 for 96khz

But what numbers are you looking at, again memory used and free metrics may not be telling you what you think they are. The system is not actually low on memory unless you see the memory pressure...

Re: Ram Upgrade on Mac Pro 2019 for 96khz

Unclear exactly what DIMMs you have installed now. Or if you are looking at exactly the same make/model DIMMs. You maximize performance when you populate each memory channel equally and reduce risk...

Re: ARM based drivers for Eleven Rack

Avid actively training it's past customer base not to purchase Avid hardware.

Eleven Racks make great boxes, absolute bargain fun, and great as outboard processors, I long since stopped stressing...

Re: No Input from AVID HD I/O

It might be, but don't guess test. It might be the preamp is not outputting an analog signal, it might be any cable or patch panel in the signal path, it might be the analog input board in the HD IO...

Re: No Input from AVID HD I/O

More info might help. But also much of the likely testing you just have to do yourself.

Has this ever worked for you? What changed?

Lights on the HD I/O box?

Is the HD Native showing up as...

Re: Rosetta 2 Questionwill

What do you mean most still have not update in your plugin folder? There are effectively no plugin vendors who have Apple Silicon AAX plugins released. Since Avid has not released support for that...

The sessions get recorded to what drive/filesystem type and what...

32 tracks
16 simultaneous inputs.

Re: Pro Tools M1 support - dec 27th (beta)

Past users/testers of buggy code are going to want back-payment :)

I want to see Avid making money, but paying a company to report bugs in their software always grates with me. But having product...

Re: Pro Tools M1 support - dec 27th (beta)

Huh? What? Why? You mean Avid or plugin developers? Phase what out after a year? Intel support?

The whole app bundle and universal binary approach is beautifully well done, and it’s not Apple’s...

Re: Pro Tools M1 support - dec 27th (beta)

There is not such thing really as "switching on the fly". A process has to be either Intel (run under Rosetta) or Apple Native. Avid could have something in Pro Tools you check and then have it fully...

Re: How to tell if an app/plugin is Apple silicon, Intel or a Universal Binary?

I'm not sure why they would have to. I doubt most users ever look or care wether miscellaneous programs run under Rosetta. Developers might move any installer components or utilities shipped with...
