You should really read those documents from Dolby to fully understand the format you're using.

DRC is about all elements in the mix. Not just dialogue.

That happens because the limiter doesn't know where the VO level is. This is what's called DIALNORM. If you measure it correctly and set the Dolby Digital metadata to this value then your dialoge...

If your client asked you to do a standard cinema/dvd mix then there is no problem when it contains differences in volume (high dynamic range). In most cases this is what the client and the viewers...
