Re: Good night, Pro Tools!

I switched from Protools to Studio One a few years ago and, my lord, I'm so glad I did. Just integrated 2nd station in studio with legacy 192's and Protools. Watching new engineer working in...

Re: Sad about loss of Pro Control in PT11

Hardware is hardware. Should it break, I ought to be able to fix it. The manufacturer should not be able to come to my studio and take a figurative sledge hammer to it and offer me no option but to...

Re: CPTK gone in PT11

Coors lite 16 oz $3.00

Screw pro Tools: Studio One convert here and never looked back. Rediculously crippled below HD. No software input monitoring switch. Absolute pain in the arse.

Re: Investing in Pro Tools

20 year protools user here. Switched to studio one last year with Apollo Quad and have never looked back. It pains me now if I have to open a protools session to tweak something again for an artist.

Re: Why is "PAID" Avid support so slow?

I can't believe it. My post was deleted. All I said was its a shame that AVIDs support plans are so complicated that you must call support to get some one to explain it to you. Like a bad feedback...

Re: IDEASCALE VOTE REQUEST: Software Input Monitoring Off

It all has to do with whether one monitors through cue mixes for the artist via a real or virtual mixing console which has no latency at all (some but don't really matter). When recording a 16 input...

Re: 12 year PT user says goodbye: no input monitoring off option

Yes, instead of the 100's who use to make millions in the business, you are now one of the Millions that make 100's. You are so professional now.

Re: 12 year PT user says goodbye: no input monitoring off option

With performance like this you have to wonder if their marketing strategy still works.

Re: 12 year PT user says goodbye: no input monitoring off option

Yes but business partner is full time artist, engineer, Belmont University graduate BA in music business, cut his chops at Ocean Way recording first album. No slouch at daw knowledge. Brother in his...

Re: 12 year PT user says goodbye: no input monitoring off option

The reason I'm pissy about this right now is we just installed Apollo Quad which has virtual console with near zero latency, but because PT 10 has no option for turning off input monitoring on...

Re: 12 year PT user says goodbye: no input monitoring off option

HD and HDX have input monitoring off option. PT10 does not without paying $2,000 for CPTK. PT10 was touted as the freedom from avid hardware savior but this little omission and others, screwed the...

Re: 12 year PT user says goodbye: no input monitoring off option

I know many of you are stuck on the PT loop of doom because of the need for transfer compatibility. HDX and HD systems are great but way over priced to the extent of almost being extortion. Those...

Re: 12 year PT user says goodbye: no input monitoring off option

Regarding the Vivre Quebec comment, I know perfectly well Toronto is not in Quebec. I just like to piss off the non Quebec populous when I can with a dig about the separatist movement. I'm all for...

Re: 12 year PT user says goodbye: no input monitoring off option

We have pro tools too, but now we'll work in Studio One and flash the protools desk top logo when needed to impress.

12 year PT user says goodbye: no input monitoring off option

Goodbye protools 10. HD3 to LE to PT10 lineage user says goodbye to protools. Now have put in enough seat time with Presonus Studio One 2 daw to become very comfortable with it in sessions.

Re: Moving to Reaper?

sure nuff....reaper site is down. What? This is very suspicious. If we find out later that Avid had anything to do with this, it will not be good for its image. Speculation: Avid purchased...
