my cable is a short high quality cable as when recording I want the least amount of interference. No matter what I do I get latency.

Yes, I have. As I mentioned, I tried both a firmware reset and making sure that the firmware was up to date.

Just the headphone jack. And yes, even in stand alone, the latency is about an 8th note at 120bpm. If I am recording in ProTools, I constantly have to adjust the recorded tracks.
