Pro Tools HD Thunderbolt Native box and External Display

Actually, incorrect.
The apple TB display has a second thunderbolt port on it to just that- daisy chain. Often I'm running a rig where my HD Native thunderbolt box is daisy chained after the...

Re: Audio Monitoring on HD MADI IO on Native system

If you're wanting full MADI 64 ch. this should work:
http://www.directout.eu/en/products/ma2chbox.html

otherwise, you can always hook up another interface to the 2nd primary port on the card (an...

Re: 5.1 tracks on a laptop

Hi Paul,

Yes, I use that as well and it is very handy. It's too bad that there isn't a way to have it live on a master 5.1 output when on the laptop. When in a surround room with multichannel...

Re: 5.1 tracks on a laptop

No need to split the track up. Just create a fold down mixer within the session. Create 1 5.1 Bus (call it Fold or HP or something).

Create subpaths - these can either be all mono or 1 L/R...

Re: MADI box recommendation please

I'm pretty sure the Avid MADI box also does real time SRC (which for some is a really big benefit), whereas the SSL does not.

Re: Need help converting 88,200 to 44,100

No need to "bounce to" in PT - just export region as audio file (in the regions list menu). this will save you a ton of time as you can do them all in a batch and it will work "offline" and not in...

Re: Is RTAS & TDM really sounding the same ?

I'm not sure if this has any relevance to your particular issue, but for what it's worth, the RTAS D-verb did change from 7.4 to 8. Taken from the "what's new in v8" pdf:
"Improved RTAS DigiRack...

Re: Mixing and recording 5.1 and stereo downmix latency

Just to be clear, you'll need to change ALL your record/input tracks to force delay compensation. I do this all the time with multiple 5.1 busses/submixes, and a downmix that i create using aux...

Re: Mixing and recording 5.1 and stereo downmix latency

Norad is on the right track here. A few subtle differences. In situations like this what is happening is PT is turning off delay comp on any record enabled tracks (or input monitored tracks) by...

Re: Supported Laptop/Cardbus HD systems?

Hi there. There are a few of us running these "older" systems. I've got a powerbook 17" (G4) 1.67 with a magma 4 slot that works just fine with my HD Accel 4 card rig. We don't use it too much...

Re: Lock Tracks?

Re: **Apogee AD16 at 96k in an HD system?**

I used to have a setup with the older AD/16 and DA/16 in to a 192Digital. Apogee makes a cable (well, really 2 tied together) with 4 DB-25's. on one side there is HD Dig I/O 1-8 and 9-16. On the...

Re: 7.2 and Apogee X-HD card/interface

The only reason I asked about the Apogee is that I...
