I created a registration case and I've not heard from anyone from Avid. I have a registered copy of PT9 and I've been on the lookout for emails as to how to upgrade.

I don't even know why I put Ctrl-P, perhaps because the original post mentioned "Paste" instead of Ctrl-V.... I am definitely trying a Ctrl-C and then a Ctrl-V...sorry for the mix-up.

As far as I know they are the same. The license is what is different: Academic has a discounted price for qualified students and schools only. I believe you need a P.O. from a school.

MIDI Drum track
1 audio bass track
and 5 audio guitar tracks

the last 2 guitar tracks don't start until 1:02 on the timeline...

Musicians Friend also has 7.4 with a free 8 upgrade as well. That is where I bought mine. As soon as I registered, Digidesign sent me a link for the free upgrade.

Thanks for the help, that worked perfectly! I was used to the way I had to do it in Cakewalk and Sonor where I had to create an Audio track AND a MIDI track and send MIDI to the Audio input....
