Produceher, you are definitely on to something. Auto Ride could kick the **** out of many compressers. That would be a great way to start your vox mix. Could work well with a bass DI track as well...

I think one of best ways is to actually have the vocalist or rapper double their performance and then use VocAlign to make it tight as a knat's ass. Super fat.
