Re: Recovering RTAS plugin settings from old session

Back to the original issue, I see only 2 options:
1-find someone with an older setup, open the sessions and take notes or screen shots of the settings you need.
2-don't be afraid to just start over...

Re: WINDOWS10 w/Carbon

The odd thing is that S6L runs AVB protocol with Windows Embedded(if I correctly understand it) so it should be possible to come up with a Windows driver to make this work. Is there nobody tinkering...

Re: 2022 Crash Behaviour in Windows. Anyone?

Ah yes, I had to re-read to see where I went off-track(sorry). I have never had a crash in PT in the past 4 years and never had a crash remove PT from the list. Hopefully, Revo can solve that for you...

Re: MIDI Electronic drum kit

Did this ever solve your problem? If it did, take the next step and work on getting it sorted out with an INSTRUMENT track. Why? Because using an INSTRUMENT track combines the features of a midi...

Re: Casio ctk-691

Have you gone to(in Pro Tools) Setup>Midi>Midi Studio and added the Casio as a midi "instrument"? The crucial setting in the window, once you create a new "instrument" is the Input Path. Assuming you...

Re: 2022 Crash Behaviour in Windows. Anyone?

I also always go to Programs and features and uninstall any previous version before running an installer. I recently had a situation where I was having issues getting an install to complete and ended...

Re: Re-sizing Memory Location Window

Until Avid revamps this window, we have all just learned to live with it. For music folks, its generally not an issue(combined with personalized abbreviated names). Post mixers have it the worst. For...

Re: Weird echo in guitar part recorded at half speed

In addition to above, how exactly did you record? A mic or DI? With headphones or listening to studio monitors? Are any tracks hidden? If so, are you sure they are all inactive? What if you solo the...

Re: move selected track faders without grouping?

Not without a control surface. You can make a group for a move and then disable or delete the group pretty quickly:o

Re: no options on the insert drop down menu

Glad its working now! In the future, look at the date of the thread you are replying to, and if its more than a year old, start your own new thread(this one is from 2008:eek:)

Re: Studio Error, then cannot access Menu Bar / Shortcuts

First thing to do is look near the top of this(and every) DUC page for the link named Help Us Help You and have a good read. Its nearly impossible to offer any help with almost zero info on the...

Re: Output Menu Inconsistent with Outputs Available

Indeed, the way photos get shrunken on the DUC makes many simply unreadable. Some IO issue causes:
1-opening any old session(from before your current IO setup)
2-opening a session imported from...

Re: Freeze Routing Folder & Contents

Cool! Curious as to what is more popular; Commit the entire track(with or without automation), or Commit Up To This Plugin. I tend to commit up to certain plugins(about 98% of the time) for mixing....

Re: MIDI Electronic drum kit

What sound source are you wanting to use? The sound from the drum kit, or a plugin drumkit(like EZDrummer). Here are some ideas(but I run PC so things may be a tad different for your Mac):
#1-using...

Re: MIDI Editor window responsiveness when MIDI CC automation data is displayed

Hmmm, shot in the dark as I am not a big user of deep midi features:
1-maybe your graphics card driver is old(wondering if its a graphics problem)
2-maybe alter your workflow so that you set the...

Re: Intermediate question regarding the use of more than one Master Fader

My 2 cents:
#1-the article is 12 years old and lots of changes have come to pass(see #2).
#2-If you are concerned about clipping, work in the 32 bit mode for the massive increase in headroom....

Re: Has anyone working Skooch with PT11

With Bob essentially impossible to reach, would he be mad if folks started sharing it? I'd love to try it to see what all the fuss is about(and I also tried in vain to reach him about it):o

Re: Can Carbon be run simultaneously with UAD satallite

Hmmm, latency was the biggest issue that caused me to say goodbye to UAD stuff. I ran their Quad card(which should have the same or less latency than satallite) and every plugin reported at least...

Re: Put Your Money Where Your Mix Is - Extra RAM?

I may be barking up the wrong tree, but my feeling is that anything that eases strain on any part of the processing is worth trying. And, its not that Disk Cache decreases seek time; it loads audio...

Re: Freeze Routing Folder & Contents

Anything that is inactive(tracks, or plugins) will/should use zero system resources. Personally, I would lean more to freezing track, but leave the folder tracks alone. Having said that, I would also...
