Figured it out via crash logs.. It was an old plugin that was incompatible with Mavericks; Wave Rider. got rid of it and both the crashes and the hangup stopped immediately. Thanks for your help...

Thanks musicman- regardless of my interface (even if I go with built in, or the HDMI outputs to my monitor), I still encounter the same problem. I'm assuming it's simply Mavericks/new Mac Pro and PT...

True, and that's understood- it's not like my system *doesn't work*, I'm just now stuck with an absolutely HORRENDOUS load time of around 6-7 minutes, and looking for helpful information,...

But I feel like reports of this would be more widespread then- I see very few people complaining about this issue, and I'm sure there are a number of folks running Mavericks + Pro Tools 10...

H/W Buffer size = 128

Host Processors = 11 of 12 (6 Core Mac Pro)

CPU Limit: 99%

Host Engine Ignores errors, Delay Comp off.

No one? I didn't get this speedy new computer to have to wait an extra 5 minutes at startup... clearly not everyone is experiencing it, so there has to be an answer.

Just installed a new Mac Pro 6,1 6-core, and no major issues, but when loading the splash screen/plugs/etc, it hangs on the last step, setting up the I/O paths. I can run sessions, but waiting 5...

I upgraded from the Mountain Lion App Store download... With as much stuff and as many apps as I have, I couldn't just wipe my drive and start fresh- especially given that with the download, it...

Oh... and although I installed the new Digi 003 drivers, I have a blank screen screen and zero control surface usability on the console with Pro Tools (either one) open.
