Why not try Pro Res? I never have a problem with it. That is what I usually get sent. AAF works great for most of what I do here. I am off for a another week or two, but may run some tests.

Maybe you are a good candidate for learning Logic Pro? It's pretty easy to learn and no subscription. My friend, who is a professor in Germany and not really using PT for making $ learned Logic...
