Re: 64 + channels whitout hdx cards

HDX is a bad investment at this point in time.

Re: Using Pro Tools to record from non Avid console

I'm going to really date myself, but I remember having a 1.5 gig hard drive that was the size of a car battery, that cost $1,700.00 USD.

I have been with Avid/ Digidesign from the beginning. ...

Re: Using Pro Tools to record from non Avid console

Yeah... said really slowly. How do we get a higher I/O count? I am looking into Audinates PCIe card to give me 128 Dante I/O. Protools won't let me use more than 64.

The AVID way is for me to...

Re: 2021.12 | Release Notes

Well, these are difficult times for our software designer friends.
I'm still on intel Macs. Every OS after Catalina was for the new Apple silicon.
So logically I am still on Catalina on my newest...

Re: Apple MacoBook Pro M1 Pro & M1 Max!

Makes sense.. Avid has had time with the first generation M1chips. We all knew this Mac Book Pro was coming.

Re: Apple MacoBook Pro M1 Pro & M1 Max!

This is exciting to me!
The real question is how long will it take Avid to be running natively on it?
There seems to be no need for a Mac Pro tower anymore?!
Will Avid make a new HD Native with...

Re: Audio Timecode with protools, syncing with video

Yeah. Just was thinking of a video editor with 64 tracks of audio. I think Media composer just added that feature.

Re: Audio Timecode with protools, syncing with video

This stuff gets messy quick.
If you can send your video editor all your ISO's so that when they send you an AAF or an OMF all the audio with their edits will follow.

There also used to be a...

Re: Who else is still using a Mac Pro 5,1 or older computer?

Re: 2 MTRX Studios

Wouldn't it just be easier if Avid supported 128x128 using the Audinates PCIe card. Avid could even put their name on it like SSL, Focusrite and Yamaha did!

The Digilink highway is becoming a...

Re: 32 channels non Avid I/O, thing of the past?

We are talking about the tracks in record limit with non Avid hardware.
This is why I have to carry around 20 pounds of stuff to record 64 tracks via Dante.

when I need more than 32 tracks in...

Re: How likely are you to recommend Avid to others?

I personally recommend Avid Protools for recording audio and Avid Media composer for video editing.

I really don't...

Re: 32 channels non Avid I/O, thing of the past?

YES PLEASE.

One cable 64 channels in and out. With computers only getting stronger, I'm sure Audinate will make DVS have more than 64 channels soon.

I really want to buy the Audinate's PCIe...

Re: Using Pro Tools to record from non Avid console

[QUOTE=Sardi;2604177]Yes of course. I always forget that 32 i/o limit isn’t just a sw limitation.

It is a Software limit only. It is a fixed number in a look up table in the software. So easy...

Re: Using Pro Tools to record from non Avid console

Currently you will need PT Ultimate and Avid's hardware to record more than 32 channels.

So for me to use Protools I have to carry around a 5 space rack with an Avid HD native, Dante network...

Re: hdx aaxdsp is dying

The beautiful thing of the Hybrid engine is that you will only need AAX DSP plugs when you want low latency. So only buy AAX DSP for your tracking plugs.
I wish Avid did this 5 years ago.

I have...

Re: MTRX Studio and Rednet PCIeR card - no outputs above 32

Yeah..... said really slowly..... The Rednet is using core audio or ASIO depending on what computer, Avid currently does not allow us to get more than 32 in or out of protools using this method. ...

Re: Dear Avid, I am an ultimate user but this 32 channel limit!

I was able to get 128 channels out of protools with no...

Re: Dear Avid, I am an ultimate user but this 32 channel limit!

I just want to use a single DANTE CAT6 cable to record 64 tracks into my protools,
I would even love to buy the Audinate Dante's PCIe card and get 128 channels.
Now we are talking crazy talk!!!
