100% with you on this one!!! keeping the legacy modifier behavior intact should have always been an option. they really went backwards for little gain here, and the way they implemented this behavior...

I use Loopback as a playback device and monitor via AirPod Pros. there's a decent amount of latency on any BT audio device but for just editing, it's no big deal. Super convenient.

may seem redundant but sometimes I make a blank clip and name it as a note for myself, so its visually attached to where it references. not a glamorous solution but it works.

Can you test with both DSP/Native instances of the same plug-in to see if only AAX dsp's compensate a compressors key input properly?

maybe only Avid AAX DSP's do it?...

can you make multiple dummy tracks that are all corrected this way? or does each one (say kick and snare) need to have their own master fader? interesting work around...

I was dealing with this using midi triggering as well. The midi note would arrive and trigger early unless I disabled delay comp on that one track before freezing.

Any chance the delay amount...

when you freeze an affected track- does the frozen waveform show this bug as well? or is this only when recording routed audio or bouncing audio thru a master bus?

try launching PT in low-resolution mode. this happened to me back on an older version when I had 100+ playlists open while comping. PT cannot handle the graphics it seems.

let's keep bugging them.

also be mindful - this fix might be complicated and likely won't make them any money- most of us deal with it & are still customers. So we really need to keep bringing it...
