Yes it needs to be plug in all the time for Protools 10. Every 10 minute all so, it will look for ilok. If you don't have it on, Protools will stop and give you a 'dialog' window until you plug it...

for anything you should consider the Macpro instead of Imac. I'd seen problem with the Imac in some setup of my buddies.

I said you wait until PTLE is solid with Leopard, even with Tiger...
