DVD Burn of WAV file for PC and Mac compatibility

Hi all,

I need to burn a DVD-R with a WAV file. I am only allowed to select HFS+ as a format using the default program in OSX. How can I burn the DVD so it's compatible with Mac and PC's?

How difficult (or easy) is it to get at the monitor jack(s) to fix them? Maybe it's an easy fix that I can do myself? I've soldered many a cable before.
