That’s correct unless you renew it. Since it’s a new separate subscription license.
And yes after subscription expires, you’d still be able to use the version you have on your perpetual license.

If you renew for 299 (Pro Tools Perpetual Renewal) this will make your Pro Tools up to date. You'll get a new license, and that neq license will be able to run Pro Tools 12.8, 2018 up to...
