Help Me Print the Edit Window for a Life Map

Hi all,

If you know how to print things in Pro Tools, I could really use your help for a school assignment called a "Life Map." Basically, it is a visual description of every major event of one's...

Re: OS9 to OSX mix system migration

Whoa! Wait a second.... I own Waves Gold plugins that work in PT 5.3.1/OS 9.2.2, with the disk authorization method of copyright protection. Are you saying I DON'T need to upgrade them if I go to...

Re: Impact Plug-In Update

I'm somewhat stunned by the mistake, the honesty, and the fact that I'm the first to reply that I'm stunned! Thanks for the correction.

Re: Nobody thinks that 26 Groups are not enough?

I'll chime in: we definitely need more than 26 groups. Having stereo tracks doesn't solve every problem. What if you want to keep the DI track separate for inserts/sends, but grouped for edits? ...

Re: ADAT Syncing (Drift prevention)

I haven't done it in a while, so sorry if I left a few blanks to fill in... If I recall, I actually set the 192 i/o clock to slave to the ADAT lighpipe cable (although it should work with either one...

Re: ADAT Syncing (Drift prevention)

I certainly could be wrong about this because I don't have the exact gear you have, but I have transferred multiple ADAT tapes to DAWs in the past. There are 2 separate issues: wordclock (how fast)...

Re: 8 more Analog Ins needed for 192 i/o

Thanks tvent. For clarification, how specifically would the external interfaces slave to the 192? I don't have any dedicated Sync i/o or other wordclock box, and I don't even have any wordclock...

Re: 8 more Analog Ins needed for 192 i/o

Good ideas by all. With these options, how do I deal with wordclock? My PT rig is totally self-contained right now (digitally speaking), so the clock is set to internal.

As for the question to...

I need your help in purchasing the right product.

Needs:
- 8 more analog ins
- "budget" "value" "prosumer" (i.e. not really high end)

I'll wait for Automatic Delay Compensation before upgrading - hah! Snuck that one in this thread!

Transfer HD session to 001 and 002

I have a large TDM session (HD 5.3.1, Mac 9.2.2, 192 i/o); one client has an 001, the other has an 002; I'll be giving each of them the session on an external firewire drive.

There are loads of...

Thanks for the reply, but I don't completely understand. Here's my scenario:

Re: Loud Explosion driving me nuts!

No solutions... bummer. The weird thing is that yesterday I reopened a session I know had the problem, and it was gone! Perhaps quitting ProTools, or maybe even rebooting the whole Mac, clears out...

Re: Enuff Q: How about some tips!!!!

Produceher, how exactly do you do this? If I have 2 mono tracks and I want to make them one stereo track? What if they have different inserts and/or sends?

Thanks,

Loud Explosion driving me nuts!

In some of my sessions, when I duplicate a track or arm/disarm a track, I get a loud noise (either a "pop" or a bigger reverby "explosion"). If I disable the bombfactory 1176 I have - on a...

Re: Vertical constrainment of automation breakpoin

Re: How to insert / delete time

I use Option + drag in the timeline in slip or grid mode, then switch to shuffle, then delete.

I know that works in 9.2.2, 5.3.1, HD.

I also know that I can use the above method to COPY, then...

Re: Vertical constrainment of automation breakpoin

True, and thanks for responding. There is one scenario I can think of (and it happens to me a lot) where this won't work:

If 2 breakpoints are in the same spot (a volume jump), and you want to...

Thanks,

Re: aaargh conductor ruler

I believe Shift will add the rulers; option will include them when you drag in the timeline.

I have discovered that copying and pasting will copy markers, etc., along with the audio, but cutting...

Really slow CD Burning??

Hi all -

I have a G4 800, with the stock IDE CDRW (Sony CRX170E), and I'm using 9.2.2. I've added an IDE drive on the same buss, set to slave.

There are rarely any problems with burning, but...

Re: DP3 MIDI to ProTools Audio and back!?

Thanks for the confirmation!

Just to clarify: Should I bounce to disk the solo'd tracks, or should I consolidate them (assuming I'm not using autofades)?

Or maybe it doesn't matter either...

Saving Waves Presets - best method?

I noticed that you can save Waves presets just like any other plugin (user, default, root folder....). But Waves has its own proprietary load/save method.

Which way is better?

And for that...
