You loose all the DSP that your cards could use, it's using only i/o nothing more, no delay compensation for i/o in HD native, no 256 voices meter in system usage. The HD...

You can have Pro tools HD software open with playback engine HD Driver, and have the audio midi setup using the same hardware for you using listen...

That is the way it should be!!!

Pro tools is not a multi client driver... Period!

Now you can use it as I/o with Coreaudio, no access to DSP,etc...

HD native have DSP too, it's only for the 64 i/o low latency, not like HDX that take care of all you mixer, i/o lowest latency, AAX DSP. But it have DSP.

It makes perfect sense to use a DSP system with a non DSP DAW software.

Money well spent ;)

by the way at 32 samples I get 1.451ms
12 ms is with 256 samples.

This is to use with NI instruments inside PT, it will make PT fail to load if that file is there.

Remember one thing, is not only a Avid fault.
El capitan as some real trouble with coreaudio/graphics etc... Its a code problem. Is not a simple operation to achieve.
