Mac laptops no linger PTLE friendly?

I just went to look at the new aluminum MacBook and MacBook pro. Neither has FW400, the pro only has FW800, so has Apple abandoned all but the mBox USB users?

I cannot get some of the free Digidesign plug-ins to come up after I upgraded from 7.3 to 7.4,specifically the limiter.
Any idea what I did wrong?

FWIW , I have noticed just now that the Digi core mgr opens up on my tower when I open Windows Media Player,can't seem to get to why that is.Still showing 002 not connected,in use by other app(-1133)...

OK.I'v got Tiger on my G4 Powerbook running PTLE 6.7 no problem,although tech support here sent me an email today saying that Tiger does not support it. But my G4 desktop will not recognize either...
