yea, if you drag audio (at least percussive) to a midi track it makes midi notes out of it.

rec'd gated snare to new track, then dragged audio to midi track.

Put Xpand2 on instrument track.
Assigned midi to Xpand 1/1.
Xpand 1 to Drums stem.
I can solo or PB and it triggers and is...

just booted to Recovery on the Mini and ran DU from there on the offending drive.
That seems to have fixed it for direct use from the Mini.
But it still no longer will cooperate with the LAN off...

haven't been able to find a partition compatibility map, but the files have been working. So I think PT didn't like whatever unexpected quit or close happened and is now being miss bossy pants.

looked for hidden files and/or folders on both the boot and the external.

I did make a copy on the int of my Mini. That works.

I will try to copy back to the LAN'd drive.
Just weird that I can't open any session from externals without copying to int.

I also tried direct connect of the drive to the Mini.
No change.
So there would be no LAN error there.

Moving to the int drive does fix the issue.
However ...

the LAN is local to me.
No one has access.
And I've been on this session for a couple weeks (and others) on the LAN'd drive.
