When I was still on my PT10 HD3 system I was using 10.9.5. It wasn't officially supported by Avid but Pro Tools worked fine. I'm not sure if that will solve your mail and browser issues though.

I'm still on a 2010 5,1 running Mojave PT 2020.9 HDN. I also have another 2010 5,1 system here on High Sierra with PT 2021.3 HDX.

Well I did a couple tests myself. I'm getting the same results that you found. If you keep the committed audio in the VCA group you do get a double dose of VCA automation.

So I was obviously wrong...

Depending on what you are doing there might not be an upside for Pro Tools. I know for me I can't imagine using anything else. I mostly use if for mixing and editing music.

If you have the Pro Limiter plugin installed you can use the audiosuite version of that to analyze clips. There's probably a better way but that's what I do in the rare instances when I need that...
