Re: SFXs for WW2 based movie

Indoor is good for that sort of thing, or if you're really keen you could 'worldise' it. You can't beat that for realism.

Re: Pretty sure a detrimental bug was introduced from 2019.10 onward.

I've noticed this as well in sessions with a large number of clips.
I think it might be related to the way PT displays/ stores clips in the clip window as a huge flat list of files.
Even the OSX...

Re: Calculating Waveform Overviews?

I deleted the cache and it seemed to improve for a while, but now it's back to getting stuck again.
The only ways I've found to unfreeze it are re booting PT and sometimes if I import a new piece of...

Re: Calculating Waveform Overviews?

No network, it's an NVme SSD inside the mac pro.
I'll try deleting the cache, but it worries me it will just crash it?

Calculating Waveform Overviews?

I'm currently working with a very large super-session and when I import new media PT doesn't show any waveform in the clips. If I go to the task manager window I can see calculating waveform overview...

Re: Cedar VoicEX vs Hush Pro?

Sorry my bad. I was thinking of the other one about Voice EX In 'Post surround video' that covers some similar areas.
Sorry to hear Hush doesn't work on your machine.
I'm pretty much in the same...

Re: Cedar C-vox vs VoiceX - difference?

Totally agree about Hush Pro and to clarify, it does work on Intel Macs, I'm using it myself on a mac pro 2019.
It's just a little slow and beachballs a bit but it doesn't crash and gets the job...

Re: Cedar VoicEX vs Hush Pro?

Hi there.
Having derailed your last thread, I thought I'd chime in here as well. :-)

I'm using Hush pro at the moment on a mac pro 2019 and it does work although it's a bit slow and clunky. The...

Re: Avid Control panners sluggish...

I find this too on big sessions.
The mouse is much more reponsive.
What we need are affordable motorised Joystick panners.
I live and dream!!

Re: Cedar C-vox vs VoiceX - difference?

Totally agree with you there. I think Hush does slightly nose ahead against Clear, but the price difference is enormous and Hush will barely run on my Mac Pro 2019 because it's optimised for Apple...

Apologies to the op for turning this into a noise reduction comparison thread, but...

Thanks for the replies about running DX revive and Clear live. It would be excellent if it was possible to do...

Re: Cedar C-vox vs VoiceX - difference?

Hi Michael

Are you using DX revive or Clear live on a DX bus.
Would it even work? I agree DX Revive sounds awesome, the best out there at the moment IMHO.

I tried DX Revive in realtime and my...

Re: Altiverb 8 released.

Cinematic Rooms is great I agree and there are other fantastic algorithmic reverbs available now. Personally I don't think you get the range of tonality that is available with impulse reverbs and to...

Re: Altiverb 8 released.

I swapped back and forth between 7 and 8 and back to 7 a few times in testing and it was fine.
The only time it was a bit flakey was if the sessions had none factory impulses in them. If your...

Re: Altiverb 8 released.

I've been using it in beta for a little while.
It's very stable, backwards compatible and has some cool new features.

Re: Expanded Clip Effects?

I agree it could become a massive resource hog, but to be honest I imagined it might use some kind of hidden rendering process rather than all the plugins remaining 'live', since we're talking about...

Expanded Clip Effects?

Wouldn't it be great to be able to stack non destructive third party FX on to a clip?

I know it's been asked for for a while, but we've done pretty well over the last few years finally getting...

Re: Surround to ltrt encoder

I'm glad LtRt has gone.
Terrible smearing of the sound.
I agree with everyone nobody will decode it anymore, you're better off with ordinary stereo.
Much cleaner.

Re: CEDAR VoicEX™

Totally agree Michael DNSOne is still great after all these years and does something special to dialogue that nothing else can IMHO.

The competition in AI plugins is only just beginning.

Re: CEDAR VoicEX™

The annoying thing is sometimes one is better at removing a particular type of noise than another, or at least that's what I've found. Meaning for the best results you need to own them all....

Re: CEDAR VoicEX™

Dx Revive Pro is my current fave. Truly amazing! better than Goyo which sometimes leaves a nasty high pitched hiss in my experience. Although Goyo was amazing for being free.

These ML plugs seem...
