Re: PT loses midi connection

Check the Track's MIDI Output to see if it's still routed to the correct VI or device. Sometimes the assignment gets lost (it's a bug). Beyond that, some VIs have needed to be updated to pass...

Re: Where's my grid in midi editor

Click on the little field that says Grid next to the Grid value. If it’s a highlighted/colored rectangle with the word Grid inside it, you should see the grid lines

Re: MacOS Sonoma

Sonoma 14.4.1 now out

I don’t know if it’s out for everyone, or on a rolling basis, but I just saw notice of a Sonoma update (14.4.1) that lists the following fixes

This update provides bug...

Re: PT 2024.3 | Released

If you look at the Dock as made to snap with the S1 to make a "Console", it makes sense. But even the S1 is a beast on a crowded desk. I get it, if you want full-throw fader and the other controls...

Re: So close... yet, so far.... Midi Update - DRUMS.

As for defaults, yeah, maybe it makes sense, but I would hope that any changes made to a session, or copies of it, or templates made from it, might retain those changed settings.

For instance,...

Re: Why uses the demo session - not sure it's worth downloading them in every install

Ah. I see. You were excluding Low Roar. I thought that was the only demo session. In that case, no I don't use any other demo sessions that might exist.

Re: Why uses the demo session - not sure it's worth downloading them in every install

Hmmm. Does it do that? I download from the "My Products" tab on my.avid.com and the Demo Session shows up there as its own download item. So I figured that it was independent of the Pro Tools 20xx...

Re: Why uses the demo session - not sure it's worth downloading them in every install

I have used it to test a new rig, and to test new plugins because I don't want to accidentally wreck any of MY sessions, but maybe I want to see how to abuse that new distortion or harmony thing on a...

Re: What I would like to see in ProTools in 2024 !

Agreed. A revision to the spec (at least for that functionality) might be due. I suggest going to the Feature Requests Lounge for Pro Tools in Avid Link, and voting-up and commentingon the post...

Re: 2024.3 must be literally dropping any moment

No support case yet. I wanted to crowdsource the symptoms a little here before I submit it. I’ll start one tomorrow. The real problem is that I’m not having the problem much any longer (since I...

Re: PT 2024.3 | Released

Yeah, the first thing in the What’s New guide is a big notice about what you need to do with EuCon. Eddie Jones also wrote about this on the Facebook EuCon group early today (like, before anyone had...

Re: 2024.3 must be literally dropping any moment

I definitely have not filed a bug report. Maybe we should dig up our prior descriptions of this, so we can create one comprehensive bug report?

Re: Performance Degradation with Carbon and Sonoma?

I agree. If there could be a little more specificity, it might help us decide if the problems are likely to plague us, as individual users with differing workflows.

Re: PT 2024.3 | Released

I haven't installed yet, but I've been watching the videos on Avid's YouTube channels.

Kinda loving the way that MIDI Plugins have been implemented.

I had concerns that it would be a...

Performance Degradation with Carbon and Sonoma?

I was excited to see the new version of Pro Tools (2024.3) out today. One of the features is "compatibility with MacOS Sonoma". But it seems to be limited for Carbon users.

In case you don't...

Re: 2024.3 must be literally dropping any moment

I was thinking about this recently. It didn't used to be consistent, but I do seem to recall that when I Copied an Instrument Track (which I did a lot when I was building my template) those tracks...

Re: Why do Avid refuse to improve the midi?

Honestly, I've always found the MIDI usable, but the implementation came in stages years apart and the different processes don't always speak well with each other. It didn't seem like a wholistic...

Thanks Tope! I was just hoping to get enough info to determine if I should treat it as a Support issue, or a Feature Request. I'll keep an eye out for the email.

Marker Rulers and TimeCode Memory Locations

I've been futzing around with the new Marker Rulers since they came out, and have encountered a stumbling block that I can't seem to get around or find a solution for in the docs. Anyone have any...

Re: Resize the bottom soft keys

I third that request.

I use the Control app almost exclusively for Soft Keys, and I have to use (and have a long enough) fingernail to tap those lower 2 rows (on a Fire 10HD tablet, or iPad). I...
