I couldn't bring myself to go the subscription route and 11 does everything I need. It's been incredibly stable and is as much so on Win11.

One day I might move up but the money I've saved by...

Thanks for this info EGS.

I do have one concern though.
The temperature that my current rig runs at is around 30 degrees C (@3.50 Ghz)

Will do.

I suspect it'll be little different from your build as far as performance goes.

So far I've narrowed it down to the following;

Re: i7 Builds - Specs and Results

Hey Donald,

I'm sure that MB would be fine.

A couple of things to note though. I've highlighted the areas where potentially speed can be choked depending on what is plugged in where. That may...

I've just upgraded to an M.2 NVME drive which I cloned the OS to, so thought I'd share my experience here.

After doing some research I got quite excited about the M.2 form factor SSD drives...

Re: i7 Builds - Specs and Results

Correct.

Though I went all out & got SSD for system, recording & samples...why...because I got a good deal on them. Having a mobo that supports fast transfer rates between the three makes PT...

Re: i7 Builds - Specs and Results

Personally, I can't speak highly enough of an SSD drive. If you don't get one, you won't notice the difference as Albee said. But if you do, you'll wonder why you didn't do it earlier. ;)
