Try checking midi thru, if it is on, disable. Also try to set your receive channel to a different midi channel than the one you are sending to PT on.

How is your latency performance with VI? For example, I load 2 different VI pianos (one of them a Kontakt, other UVI), I cannot reliably play them anything less than 256k. Not so impressed.

Yes regarding the 2021.12 HD Driver and PT version, the driver install did the firmware updates on both the HDNTB and HDN PCI.

We will see what lynx says to my latest...

Avid only said they think it is the HD Driver. They asked for log files, and they have them. I have a case number.

PT shows about 1GB mem usage when playing a small session. Haven't noticed and memory peak when I get the memory error 9006 when attempting to open PT.

Spoke with Avid support. They think it is their HD Driver.

One extra think they did make sure i allowed full disk access to PT under system prefs>security>privacy. Didn't help.

Pro tools works fine with HDN disconnected using aggregate IO.

The cache size set to normal, 28 GB, 1GB, doesnt seem to affect PT. but changing stuff around does sometimes get the system to work....

On your suggestion I selected my monitor as the system sounds device. But the next time I opened PT I got memory error, after a restart.

Clean install no migration. Using the installer from my avid page, 2021.12, not using avid link anymore, same results.

I did a completely fresh wipe install 3x, only installing the pt 2021.12. no other plugins. There is nothing on the machine other than PT and the stock apple stuff. The memory error has popped up...
