I got Pro Tools M-Powered version 8.0.3 and installed it on W7 and then installed 8.0.4 update. Ok so far, but I’m not a power user, just a weekend hobby jockey.:-)

Could be a M-audio driver issue. Do you have the latest driver installed? Currently M-audio have 2 for W7 64bit; original & SP1. I note you’re OS is W7 64 SP1.

As far as I can see from the Avid website, PTMP 8.0.4 is a free update for all registered Pro Tools users. Therefore you need to have the full version of PTMP 8.0 - 8.0.3 already installed.

Install PTMP 8.0.3, and then apply the updates. Worked for me on W7 64bit.
