Re: PD-1 lag/punch problems with 11/12.x

Is delay comp on, and are you cascading recording tracks?

Re: feature film sound deliveries - unknown shortcuts

This spec seems more like they want a PT session with the 5.1 stems and LtRt locked up together, rather than the entire PT session (which, as Mark points out, would be only moderately useful to them).

Re: Video Sucks!

I got a slew of MP4 files that used AVC coding (from Premier) and had a hard time converting them to MJPEG. I think I ended up having to Export them from QuickTime X, then do the MJPEG conversion in...

Re: applying cross fade to several clips at once

Select all the clips, then hit F (if Command Focus is on) or Command/Control+F, which will bring up the batch fade dialog.

Thumbs up Re: MacBookAir or Pro For Dialog Editing?

I've got the 2.66gHz i7 Mac Book Pro as my main system, and I'm still constantly amazed at how much I can do with it. I've done things from smaller feature mixes to TV shows and spots on it with no...

Re: drive maintenance

Interesting, what's the noise level like when these are running (for those of us without space for iso racks)?

Re: Pro Tools 10.3 stopped displaying automation values in edit window

I've seen this happen when the clip or track in questions sits near the bottom of the screen.

Re: What would you do?

I've been doing this for a while. I have an extra drive with all my applications installed that I use to test new OSes and Pro Tools versions before I bring them onto my main computer drive. If...

Digi002 Console with case and PT 8 LE

Hey guys,

I'm looking to sell my Digi 002, as I simply don't have the space for it anymore. The unit is in great shape save for a few scratches, and functions great. I'm tossing in a padded case,...

Re: Anybody using a MOTU interface with PT 10?

I've been running the 10 HD software with an 828 mkII FireWire, and it's been great. I usually work with the buffer at 512, but on the few occasions I've gone lower, I haven't had any issues. The...

Re: Cinema Chains - sadness at poor levels

I had this happen to a short I mixed not too long ago. Every other short had been mixed by the same group, who I believe also had links to the people running the festival, and while all of there...

Re: Obsolete Features in ProTools

I use D and G a lot. Auto-spot has been more of a nuisance than anything IMO.

As for others, I've never found a purpose for Y other than to launch my audio clip to oblivion when I'm just trying to...

Re: iZotope Nectar in Post

A friend of mine who does a lot of audiobook work picked it up and liked to use it as a quick and dirty channel strip. Sounds pretty good, but for post, it seems a bit much.

Re: 10.0.1

This new plugin is in 10.1, so though it's limited to HDX users, I'm sure we'll see it on the next release. My guess is 10.2 will be the "rejoined" version, since right now its 10.1 for HDX and...

Re: Video Playback for mac book pro based system

Interesting. What format is the video? Some codecs will require more power to decode than others. It may also be worth getting some more RAM, just to help overall system responsiveness.

Re: Video Playback for mac book pro based system

What model MacBook Pro are you using? I run my system like this and it's never been bogged down.

Re: audiosuite handle bug?

You can simply render Clip Gain before exporting down to PT 9. Select your clips with Clip Gain, then either right-click or go to the "Clip" menu and select "Render Clip Gain".

Re: Daily Near-field Calibration Discussion

My room's fairly small and I'm closer to the speakers that I'd like to be, so I stick around 76dB SPL on my system. That translates well to other mix rooms at 79 or 85, depending on the size.

If...

Re: Lion User: Get PT 10 or Downgrade OS?

I've had a great experience with Lion thus far. Some of the feature are a bit useless for what I do, but my system has remained snappy and responsive, running the PT 10 HD software with my 002 and...

Re: Where´s the new Varifi plugin?

It probably got added in the 10.1 release, which was for HDX compatibility. I'm sure that it will show up in the next release for the rest of us on HD and native systems.

Re: How would this have ever worked?

This may introduce a delay in the signal, as long as it's accounted for, you should be good. At least this is the case with HD when clocking to AES instead of Video Ref.

My bigger question is how...

Re: Final Cut won't make me poor!

Wow, at least it's a nice, long loop. I can tell you exactly what a stutter edit of the one moment someone coughed during a roomtone take sounds like.

Re: MAgma PE6R4 and Pro Tools 9 HD

Could it have been that it was an older Magma that couldn't use a PCI-e host card? We had to scrap our PCI7RX when we got rid of our G5 and went MacPro because that unit doesn't support a PCI-e HBA....

Re: optical in test?

I think that's it, the Mac Pro outputs S/PDIF on the optical, not ADAT. You can toggle between S/PDIF and ADAT optical in the Hardware Setup for the 002.
