If you are looking to tune your room, I would suggest a Graphic-EQ over a Parametric-EQ. As for what brands, I don't know what to suggest.

I'm running PT 5.1.1 on OS 9.1 with OMS 2.3.8. First simple question. How do I change the program I want to hear on my sound module?

As far as I know, no. You can't combine a TDM hardware interface with an LE. The ProTools software won't work correctly. But, I could be wrong.
