Looks like it's related to the 8-core processing. If I set the number of processors to 4, it runs beautifully (blazingly in fact!). If I set it to 5, 6, 7 or 8 processors, I get the CPU spiking issue...

Which developers have universal binaries out there right now? Not Digi, not Ableton, not NI, not Spectrasonics...even Logic won't have a universal binary until March.

It's working fine with my Powerbook running Tiger and PT MP 7. Latency is about 6ms in and out at 128 samples; i.e. it's not outstanding but quite useable.

No, PT MP won't start up without M-Audio hardware attached. However, PT 7 supports the tiny, bus-powered (and cheap) M-Audio Transit, so I'm just going to pick up one of those to use with my laptop.

Hopefully we'll see something by this Friday. Tiger was released on April 29, and Digi originally said M-Powered would be Tiger-compatible within 8-10 weeks...and 10 weeks from April 29 is July 8.
