They call it 7.3 upgrade but actually it doesn't need any previous version. So it's a stand alone installer.

Same here.
I was on 10.4.9 and did the security update: PANIC. PT didn't run!

I've tried with PT Academic 7.3 (that basically have the same options of an LE + Dv toolkit) and everything works great, i can edit and then still be able to match tracks.

But one of the main problem is that we don't have a good tool to search INTO the PT session, and keep it organized.
Why can't we simply put folders into the Region...

i think the only way to use a single stereo track is using a plugin like Waves S1.
In this plugin you can select input mode in MS, instead of LR.
So it will read the stereo audio file as a MS...
