i may be a complete goose asking this but it's been driving me nuts for awhile....

six months ago we upgraded from 7.2 HD to protools 9 HD, and i swear the VCA behaviour has changed, and it drives...

yes.

it's pre delay. with delay comp, the only sync issue will be a result of the vision pathway... (the screen/projector or your vision cards)

i've only ever used serial, for any kind of restripe, dolby E, digi, SR, HD. it's fine. dropping in should be fine as long the deck is set to "cut" not "xfade," dolby E can't handle the crossfade, it...

open up the activity monitor (it's in the utilities folder) and keep an eye on the "ream mem" protools is using. see what number it gets to when it crashes, then make sure when you're...

i'm okay with that actually. i think crashes are part of working on a computer. there are certainly far less of them these days than even a few years ago before intel based macs.....

when protools crashes and you forget to load from the session backup folder, and instead load the session that hadn't been saved for about 3 hours, then do another 3 hours...

i still can't get afl solo to work in protools 9. i've recently upgraded to protools 9.02 and i haven't been able to use afl solo since the original upgrade from 7.2 we did a few months ago.

if you save your session on PC after it comes up with an "out of memory" warning, that session will be corrupted. if you suspect it's about to happen, put a number on the end of your file...
